Steve Booth will present a talk entitled "Stone and the Impact of World War Two (1939 - 1945)", on Wednesday 9 June 2021 at 7.30pm.
The Zoom talk is fully-illustrated and will last for about 1 hour.
Steve says "It is designed to be similar to public talks which I have given previously on Stone and the Great War in that it tries to balance the considerable military contribution of people from Stone during the war, in the British Army, the Royal Navy and the Royal Airforce, with the impact of the war on everyday life in the town and how local people adapted to it.
The talk is designed to complement an illustrated booklet on the topic which has been produced on behalf of Stone Historical and Civic Society. Both the talk and the booklet are based on an in-depth study of the topic by myself, by Stephen Edwards and by Jim Davies, President of the Royal Air Forces Association, Stone Branch."
